6.3 Import Contacts
Importing a CSV allows you to add and update contacts. If a Contact ID, or phone number, or email address in your CSV matches an existing contact, they will be updated with the mapped values. Otherwise, a new contact will be created.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Go to your system
CloudCX installation domain
, and log in with the admin account.From the left navigation menu, go to Contact.
Click the button and select “Import Contact”.
(Optional) Click sample.CSV to download the sample file to your device.
Click “Click to upload” to select the contact file from your device to upload, or drag and drop the contact file into the area to upload. After uploading the contact file, click Next button.
Tips:
Include country code for phone number.
Import must use an email, a phone number or contact ID to identify existing contacts.
File size cannot exceed 20 MB and the file must contain less than 200,000 rows.
Make sure all the columns you need are already available on the Contacts page.
Remove columns from the .CSV that you do not wish to import.
Ensure that there are no duplicate unique IDs in the imported Contacts.If duplicate exist. those contacts will be marked as failed items.
You must enter the system login account name in the Contact owner in your CSV file, not alias or First name+Last name.
Mapping contact property columns:
If the field name of the imported column has the same field name in the system, it will be automatically mapped by default.
If the field name of the imported column does not have the same field in the system, it will not be mapped.
If no mapping relationship is found automatically, you can click to select a field from the system for manual mapping.
Select the action for each field, when the contact in your CSV matches an existing contact in the system.
Overwrite: Replace current values with imported values.
Update blank only: Imported values will only be added if the current value is empty.
Add Appendix: Add the imported values and does not replace the current values.
Click Next button.
In the Define & Review page, you can review the imported Contact status, including total contacts, the number of contacts that will be imported, and the number of contacts that will be skipped.
(Optional) You can click + button to add tags to the all contacts that will be imported.
Click Import.
After importing the file, you will receive a system notification and email.
All the imported contacts will be displayed in the contact list.
Timezone Value Standard
To ensure that the imported timezone value can be used and displayed correctly in the system, please copy the required timezone value in the table below and paste it into the contact CSV file to be imported.
